So some prick stole the license plate off my car. As the police report won't be ready until Friday afternoon, I might be forced to cancel my weekend travel plans since I probably still won't have a plate.

Wtf... You probably should just start parking your car in a garage just for you with an armed guard around it at all times. You really have some some shit luck with things happening when you leave it unattended for any length of time.
