See, it may look like something new and fresh and unexpected and how to deal with all this... except that I immediately recollect Bradbury's Martian Chronicles.

The people that lived here. They did noht maintain permanent marriages. Men went hunting, living in tipees. Women lived in caves, raising children. Then men returned. Found women to care (and to give them one more child). Stayed with them for a while. And went on. Who wins, who loses? It's all just biology.
