215: Sunday Night

Sep 04, 2006 09:23

The TV was on, there was a cup of tea sitting next to the plant, and Jack was lazing on his bed, flipping through some pages he'd printed off the internet.

The door was partly open, and he was currently wondering if All and Sundries would order furniture.

[ooc: open for just one person, who knows who she is.]

215, jaye

Jaye's back at the dorms and in her room for about twenty minutes before she decides she doesn't want to be there right now. Instead, she heads down to the second floor, and knocks on the door. "Boo," she greets him.

"Yeah, I don't think that'll be happening," she says, and wow, it's already been a week. "Sorry."

A bit perplexed, because last time he'd talked to Jaye she'd been fairly positive about the kissing Alec thing, Jack asked, "How come?"

"Remember everything we talked about at the welcome party? Well, ironically enough, we broke up that night. So asking for boykissy might be a little awkward all the way around." She's gotten really calm about this.

"Yeah, that might be awkward." Jack sat up, tucking his legs underneath him and resting his hands on his knees, and looked at her intently. "You okay?" he asked gently.

"Yeah," she says with a nod, even if she's not entirely sure about that yet. "It's not like we were really serious or anything, so."

Jack wasn't entirely certain he believed her. "Serious enough you would have turned me down," he pointed out with a small smile. "But okay. Feel like telling me what happened?"

Jaye looks a little uncomfortable when she answers, "He's kinda been hooking up with Dean. Apparently for a while. And didn't tell me about it. And doesn't get why I'm upset."

"Oh, Jaye, I'm sorry." Jack was surprised, because he'd never picked up that vibe from Dean, and angry, because neither of them should have messed with Jaye like that. "He should have told you. Trust me, on this I know what I'm talking about. Doesn't matter how serious it was, he should have told you." He shifted closer so he could put an arm around her, not entirely sure she'd welcome it, but he kind of needed to. "Want me to arrange for something bad to happen to them?" he asked, entirely serious.

Jaye's more than okay with it, and leans against him a little. "Nah. Thanks, though," she says, almost cheerfully. "The timing just kinda sucks."

"Hey, it would suck no matter when it happened," he replied, tightening his arm and tilting his head to kiss her hair, grinning a little bit evilly as he contemplated various ways to make life difficult for Alec and Dean. Just in case Jaye changed her mind. "What's so bad about the timing?"

"I kind of called him my boyfriend earlier that same day," she says. "Karma was laughing at me with that one. Shock."

"You're right, that does suck. But karma's what you get for bad things, and you didn't do anything bad, so it can't be karma." He chuckled suddenly and said, "Should be interesting to see what happens to Alec, though."

"See, that's the thing, I don't actually want anything bad to happen to him," she says, and there's kind of a mental flail involved with that thought. "I really think he just doesn't get it, and it's not really his fault, but ow."

"Okay." Jack may have sounded a touch disappointed as he said it. "But he should get it. You deserve to be treated like something precious, Jaye, not," and he winced internally at how close he was venturing to flat-out hypocrisy, but at least he was always honest at the start, "not like some one-night stand who doesn't matter. You're worth so much more than that," he finished with a small sigh.

Jaye looks up at him with a smile. "Can I like, clone you and shrink the clone and carry him around with me in my pocket?"
