Like, okay, I totally get the dislike of Yen Sid and DiZ, because they're the ones who tell Sora straight out of the gate that Nobodies are bad, they shouldn't exist, blah blah blah. Even Mickey kind of dropped the ball on that. But Sora's a good kid, and he really had no reason to ever think he was being lied to or led on -- and honestly? The way the Nobodies act in the game, he still has no reason to think that. Even Demyx (and I LIKED Demyx, I felt bad for him when he died) was stealing stuff and attacked Sora when Sora didn't respond to being called Roxas -- and yeah, he was just doing his duty, but. Who's going to be kindly-inclined to someone who attacks them because you don't respond to a name!
And. SOB YOU CAN TELL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT GETS MY FANDOM SELF RILED UP. JUST A BIT. ;;b
Which is to say, so agreed on all of this. It's something the camp Nobodies have discussed at great length -- Xemnas Did It Wrong. Heck, Marluxia Did It Wrong. If the start of Chain of Memories was Marluxia coming straight out and saying, hey, there's this Other Ansem and he's doing bad things, can you help me stop him, it would have been a very different pair of games. Sora is the type of person you win over through earnest honesty, not trickery and manipulation.
Additionally it's so very true that the keyblade is a damning influence. DiZ's programming or natural response, the first time we see it in KH2, it almost seems to want to go after the Dusks. Nobodies are the other side of Heartless, they are creatures that were not meant to exist on their own. If the Director's Secret Report is to be believed, there may even be a future for something that was once split, if the keyblade takes out both sides (though I'm just waiting for this to lead to yet another Ansem).
