Still wondering when I'll have a tournament go well for me, like so many of my friends have had. By and large I'm playing pretty damned well, and not getting much in the way of results. I am, however, getting much more experience than I want in converting bad draws to <30 point losses and maybe even a win or two instead of the blowouts they ( Read more... )

Scrabble tournament. The words to the left of the double slash are the bingos I played, those to the right are the ones that my opponent played.

A letter in lower case is a blank; a letter in parentheses is a tile that was played through on the board.

i had it backwards, i thought blanks were the parentheses :>

A bingo is when you use all seven tiles on your rack. It gets you a 50 point bonus.

If it's any consolation, the bingos look pretty stylish on both sides, and at least a few of us are thinking the exact same thing when it comes to when we're going to have a good tournament result.

Hm. You clearly did WAY better on Day 1 than on Day 2. I think it's because we didn't drink nearly enough on Saturday night but got sloshed on Friday night. Next tourney we'll do shots between rounds. ;-)
