There's something really very strange about this journal.  I don't even know why the man was so keen on me buying it, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to keep some information down.  They always do say to keep track of your finances.  And who would bother to enchant a journal?  Looks like a lot of people have used it in the past . . . Why?

Why does any scientist engage in his field? To push forward the boundaries of human knowledge, to understand and break down the universe, to unravel the very secret of life itself! A never-ending quest of enlightenment, one that must unfortunately be paved with the blood of many, to make way for the worthy few.

But the best answer, I think I can give you, is why not?

Because . . . because it's wrong.

To know the secret of life is to delve into the realm of the gods. I . . . I believe such a goal may be admirable, Doktor, but your methods -- what enlightenment can the creation of such creatures bring? They . . . They're nothing more than a shadow of life. An imitation. Even a mockery.
