No Country For Old Men:...Wow. Phenomenal. Solid movie and so well-acted. Very violent, really intense (lots of edge-o'-yr-seat, heartbeat-racing scenes & jump-outta-yr-skin moments) and extremely sad. And actually pretty funny in a couple parts. cormac mccarthy: arguably the greatest living author.

i had NO clue they made a movie based on one of his novels! how exciting!

yeah, and it's pretty great! check one of the trailers on youtube.

of mccarthy's books i have only read The Road, but dug it hard. Blood Meridian and All The Pretty Horses are prominent placers on my mental to-read list. any in particular you'd recommend?

definitely Blood Meridian. All The Pretty Horses is so-so compared to his other stuff. Sutre is supposed to be great, too.

...then again, i've only read ATPH and started Blood Meridian! if only there were more hours in the day!
