A Near Miss

Today, while riding my bike to work, I narrowly averted a collision with a car. Some ignoramus directly in front of me tried to make a right turn onto a side street without signaling. Yay for survival!
My sister's boyfriend has a good solution to drivers not paying attention to bikers: if you can, give their car a good thump. It scares the beejeebers out of them since they think they just hit you, and then they tend to be more sorry.

Hah hah hah... Nice. But when I'm going 15mph and see a car pull in front of me, teaching the driver a lesson is the last thought on my mind. I bet it would make the experience quite memorable for the driver, though.
