This article from The Moscow Times on Medvedev is a sad reminder of the shallowness of political perception--focussing on the fact that he is "soft", and that Russians look to their leaders to be full of "rage" and be essentially tyrants. You would think, after Stalin, the opposite would be true? And in fact, it *is* true--he just got elected. But

Actually, I'm knocking Bachelet more than Obama. It's just a trend I'm seeing among these three... they don't have much of a track record, they're young, comparitively attractive, and at least Bachelet to some extent and obviously Obama are using public fear/disgust with a previous tyrant to manipulate their way into office
