Just a small note in case people forgot: time for Heather is 2012 and she's a senior.
First of all, Heather is very socially awkward and because of that she doesn't easily speak to people, let alone have friends. Regardless she's probably known by classmates as the girl always sitting in front of the class to drain as many knowledge out of the teacher as possible (she's quite the teacher's pet in most cases) and after class she disappears as quickly as possible to the nearest place with a book or a place to study since she tends to avoid crowds. When she's seen around the school it's always either reading a book or studying on her own. Heather always gets high grades; she's a bit of the 'teen genius girl' type and I suppose she could be known/have a reputation because of that around the school as well? I don't know, it always works that way in anime and manga. :| She's so scared of people though that she avoids them and that might be misunderstood as the 'I'm so smart and way above you' elitist type by some other students.
She's also really, really a pushover and I'm fine with stuff like saying a character having done a project with her and having dumped all the work on her or having made her do something for them or having stolen her stuff (I'm looking at a certain roomie here~) or whatever. The sky's the limit!
In first RP interactions she's going to be really shy and awkward and whimpering at first, but once she gets more used to being around someone she'll get more friendly and helpful.
As for the interaction between the two different times, Heather's definitely going to abuse the letter system because the concept of being able to talk to someone like that without having to actually be face to face with someone is really not as intimidating and therefore amazing. A++, would write again.
