I'll never forget the sound my youngest Oriental Shorthair, Caesar made when he cornered a Japanese Red Stag Beetle in my home.

It was a very odd chittering sound indeed!

I love chittering! I have a friend in town who is staying in a house with a cat. She doesn't know cats, so she called me to ask a few questions. "Why is she meowing?" I said, if she's remotely Oriental, like a Siamese -- "She is Siamese." "Then she will have plenty to tell you." She also asked, "what does it mean if she's licking me?" I told her, "She's trying to decide whether you are food."
