That article about free speech proposals seems a bit disingenuous.

Firstly, the article is trying to make a case that it's scandalous to cite an anti-LGBT group's research on threats to free speech. But if you want to know whether free speech is under threat, you have to ask the people with the unpopular opinions. The people with the popular opinions won't know either way. Unless the article writer is happy to endorse the position of "free speech but only for people who agree with me".

Secondly:
