We took a wonderful boat ride on lake Kawaguchiko, with stunning views of Mt Fuji from the water. I took one crappy selfie and klik made a few snaps, but we mostly enjoyed being there. Not so the Chinese couple who were also on the boat. The whole trip, they only saw Mt Fuji from the screen of their phone, at the end of a selfie stick. It made me kind of sad for them: to be at such a cool place, and then not being able to enjoy it as it is, but instead always being concerned with how others see you there. (This most recent trip made me wary of Chinese tourists. The ones I saw tended to be disconnected from where they are, and then you get quite anti-social behaviour.)
