I don't agree with the positivity article, especially the bit that says "Our feelings are our guides and our compass." Rubbish. Our feelings aren't some kind of reflection of our real authentic self. They're just as likely to arise from what we've eaten or drunk recently, or whether we've had enough sleep, or hormonal fluctuations. Our authentic self is better reflected by the decisions we choose to make, and whether or not we choose to stick by those decisions even when we don't feel like it. Moreover, feelings are self-reinforcing and self-perpetuating if fed back onto themselves. They're supposed to be output, not input. Using them as a "guide and compass" is like using a motion trace as a route map or a history book as a policy document. It's going to lead to massive positive (no pun intended) feedback loops in random and probably unwanted directions.
