They shouldn’t blame Russell for the theophobes. No one is more absolutely certain of anything than Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett, and Richard Dawkins are of the absence of God and the soul.

I don't know the others, but I strongly suspect that Dennett would change his hypothesis about the existence of God if there was a scientific testable hypothesis.

I suspect that both of those would say that if God _does_ exist then they're clearly an evil torturer.

And I'd say they had a point.
