Someone commenting on the original Middle-eath mountains article remarked that the Carpathians in Europe produce an angle quite similar to those of Mordor. Anyway, natural forces in Middle-earth are sentient and can act independently.

My cats have identification microchips implanted in them, which is fine. However I saw on-line that American companies want to do it to their staff, so I am not at all sure that the future the author of that article expects is going to be that fun.

I'd love to do a course on 'geography for fantasy map makers'. I mean, I can (and do!) make fantasy maps, but somehow they never seem 'real' to me. I blame my lack of geo-physical knowledge, and I'd love to remedy that.

One of the comments pointed to an article on Creating Plausible Maps, which I will read and then read all the related articles and then, maybe, I will try to make another map and see where that takes me.
