I wasn't until recently familiar with the concept of "incel" communities but the absolute obsession with sex and sexual attractiveness in them (and indeed in the opening part of that #butwhataboutthemen rant re cock shots is just creepy and sad.

Unrelated: does sending random dick pics have a better response rate if it's to a gay male audience?

Um, I have reason to believe that trading dick pics is not unusual on Grindr as a step before agreeing a hook up.

A question I once found interesting enough to ask online. The responses were fascinating:

On dick pics and the desexualisation of men cartesiandaemon March 22 2017, 21:04:21 UTC
I think that's a really good observation about desexualisation, but I'm not sure about the conclusion. From what I've heard gay men do this too apparently often with an expectation someone might actually like it? But it sounds like straight men often seem to do it in a "I reset you so I want to impose this on you" way.

I suspect there's a mixture of things. People sending them to make people feel uncomfortable, people who think they'll be appreciated, and people who are firing them out scattershot.

(None of which makes it any better)
