The author of the "Our Universe is too vast" piece quoted Douglas Adams, but didn't use the most appropriate quote?
"Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

That's a shocking missed opportunity.

Yeah, faith and independent schools have had an out until now.

And frankly, it sounds like it's still going to be more flexible than I'd like.

My brain amusingly auto-completed "Jean-Claude" as "Van Dam". I guess I have the action adventure blockbuster version of the future EU :-) Might be more fun!
