What's depressing about the vote in the Lords about staying in the Single Market is that it was one of the few things that the Lords could do that would survive the Parliament Act. After all, the Tories' manifesto explicitly committed to staying in the Single Market, even expanding it, so that was one of the few ways to block a hard Brexit.

Yup. There's no reason not to oppose us leaving the single market unless that's what Labour wanted all along.
