Really rubbish excuse too. In a representative democracy they should be (a) selling it to the people and (b) doing what they believe is right. That's their damn job.

More sadly the Canadians have some pretty good experience using deliberative and participative processes to think about electorale reform and I think the evidence from the two citizen jury exercises they ran in British Columbia suggests that running those sorts of process increases the desire for electoral reform.

The anorexia/autism study leaves me wondering whether anorexia is partially caused by autism, or at least some autistic traits.

There's something geeky about anorexia-- the compulsive focus on detail and measurement. This still leaves the possibility open that anorexia amplifies autistic traits.

You see the same thing in bodybuilding. If you look at bodybuilding forums, you'll see an obsession over size and measurement and also over incredibly precise calorie tracking and macronutrient breakdowns, with people eating ridiculous things at times to hit precise splits. And, of course, intense levels of body dysmorphia, although it's harmful in a very different way to anorexia.

Yes! Yes! More dog pictures are what we need to survive these difficult times and not become overloaded with, well, everything.
