At this point I view Sherlock as simply one long ad designed to put a mediocre actor into many, many roles he's unsuited for in ongoing successful franchises.

Which actor are you thinking of?

It's strange, but I can't remember. What a marvel.

Moffat will do that to a person.

Nooooooooooooooooooo not fucking Charles Vess!

First, he's kinda twee in his style.
Second, he clearly DOESN'T READ THE FUCKING TEXT.
Exhibit A: in Stardust, the text describes an 8-foot-high wall. In the illustration, it's knee height.

Ursula Le Guin just managed to get her most recent illustrator to finally paint Ged and others with dark skin like she described in the books, so I expect her to at least make sure that there's no backsliding there.

I stopped watching Sherlock after two episodes of the first set, and I take it I'm not missing much.

The writing in the middle episode of the first two series was quite terrible. (As I recall episode 2 of season 1 was also rather unfortunately racist.) The Gatiss- and especially Moffat-written episodes were much better.

Later seasons have been somewhat a victim of the first seasons' success, needing to top the previous stories, often with a bigger budget and more explosions.

What's this word "medæval"? We say "medieval" now, don't we?
