Maybe media companies have finally realised that their "oh hey you should probably just rebuy all your cds digitally, go on you know you want to" plan didn't work and people didn't do this (and also that music was often sold cheaper digitally than on CD) so to make up some of their expected lost revenue from the dvd/digital transition, they're just selling digital stuff at a far higher price.
I have a relatively small single bedroom flat that's rented so can't put in shelving to store stuff, and could get home at any point to find a letter telling me I need to move everything I own in a few weeks time (and wherever I move to could have less space). I simply don't have space in my flat for hard copies of all the films I want to watch, books I want to read or music I want to listen to. :-/
So if it's something I'm likely to re-read, listen to more than a couple of times (or is by an artist I essentially buy everything by, of which there are a few) or watch more than once then I'll certainly buy a hardcopy. Otherwise digital is pretty handy.
If I had a lot more space and the space was my own, I'd probably have a lot more CDs, DVDs and books
Interesting news about Trump's plan to pay off the US national debt. Although, I think, nobody sane will give him the power to even start doing it, it is impossible to imagine... One thing to borrow money and other to pay them back. It will be only possible with a total denomination of dollar and with acceptance of some new currency.
