The neat thing about this approach is that it replaces only the control surfaces (not the entire wing), and doesn't need any new systems in the wing proper (uses existing hydraulic infrastructure). So can be retrofitted (once the number-crunching for the aircraft type is done), for about 3% fuel burn improvement (vs 8-12% if designed for).
I will notice if this becomes wide-spread. Since they introduced GPS-aided approach paths to Auckland International, I now get airliners overhead while they descend (this used to happen further east, as manual-type approaches line up further away from the runway). I often hear the flaps deploy - this will make much less noise with this system.

WPS Office (formerly Kingsoft  Office) is awesome, and works on both pc and Android. Best of all, for me, is that you can set it to the old skool interface, before they brought i the stupid ribbon menu.
