I genuinely think one of these days Meat Loaf is going to snap and murder a journalist over that question. Because you can see it in his eyes every time he is asked. That's a man on the fucking edge.

Should we believe Kevin is sincerely describing his beliefs rather than an extended comic riff?

Kevin interacts with people in his thread about it in a way that horrifyingly enough convinced me of his sincerity. :)

Kevin's belief in reptilians and the illuminati etc., if sincere, makes him a bit of a weirdo who probably could use more direct sunlight, especially if he's older than about 12 or 13. I don't get the sense that Kevin is much older than 12 or 13, though, and I definitely don't see the leap from there to "stalker" and "serial killer."

That article about avoiding "dry-cooked foods" containing advanced glycation endproducts was completely and utterly useless, as it didn't mention what any of those foods might be.

Also, Science Daily annoys me by having the "summary" being just the first paragraph of the full story, so you end up reading the same thing twice.

Yes. I more tagged that one so that either someone could explain it, or to remind me if I bumped into more articles on the subject.

Link to source here.

This table shows the diet differences between the two groups. Basically, the low-AGE group "were specifically instructed to avoid frying, baking or grilling, and they were encouraged to prepare their food by boiling, poaching, stewing or steaming".

AGEs are Advanced Glycation End-products, derived when lipids & proteins are exposed to sugars & heated. Basically, all the lovely flavours from grilling & frying & caramelisation. Someone kill me now.

I'm conscious of using pretty much that technique when finding my way around. If I'm making my way in an unfamiliar place, I make a mental note of the changes in direction I make that aren't obvious, like junctions and turnings and so on. And I'll periodically look back and figure out the reverse path to get to where I was earlier.

I have a really good sense of direction, but really, I'm not sure I do. I just do that.
