The Boris story would be funny if not for the fact it sounds horrifyingly prophetic.

Olivia Coleman as Jessica Rabbit. Ok, a man can dream, can't he?

I totally believe her that she didn't know anything. I suspect that probably 99 percent of people in Germany at the time had no clue what was going on.

You don't let on that you are killing 6 million people to the general population. It would have been much harder to put jews, roma and gays into trains if anyone knew where they were going and what would happen to them. And it would be super hard to get soldiers to fight in favor of that shit.

You'd want to keep the number who knew down to the bare minimum - high up party officials, guards at the camps and grave diggers. And you probably wouldn't let the guard and grave diggers go into town and talk to people.

I generally agree with you. I would also add that there were large numbers of young women and men who were assigned to work the camps, as part of a German workfare scheme. And, the ones who protested were beaten, killed, and thrown into the same camps as traitors to the state. Now, I don't know about you personally, but most people, when faced with certain death and torture for objecting to the same, generally figure out fairly quickly how to tow the line. We know now that this is a main component in how every institutional evil perpetuates itself.

PS The number is like 11-18 million, depending on how you count Poland.

'"If true, it's revolutionary," said Jonathan Feng'

I agree entirely, and would bet a pint that it's not true.

Almost certainly worth betting a pint against anything which is revolutionary if true.

You either get a scientific revolution or a pint, so either way you're coming out ahead!

(I agree, by the way.)

I saw the title "Empty Porn Sets" and thought it referred to a list of non-existent entities in the porn world.

But that would violate Rule 34.

Tune into tomorrow's link post for "Porn Sets Which Do Not Contain Themselves"

Is there porn that in fact contains no porn?

Would that violate rule 34?

Would the universe explode?

I guess a particularly jaded pornography enthusiast might well suggest that softcore porn or "tease" type videos without nudity or sometimes even without overtly sexual content do not contain porn.

And there's always this

Which I guess isn't really NSFW but you might get some rather funny looks unless you work at the AA or RAC, I guess...
