The EU one lost me with his first big finding:

the EU considers the risk load of changing the rules to be greater than the risk of a member leaving

In fact the rules are being changed for British benefit - and have already been changed to allow a legal path to leave in the first place. So the notion that the EU refuses to change the rules is a straw man.

I agree. And I'm glad that they aren't changing them to the point of preventing free movement, which I think is a key positive of the Union.

There is a way to prevent it! Say the nutjobs of the only nation where mass shootings occur like clockwork! If only all those clubbers had been armed to the teeth it could have been stopped!

And like, if somebody started shooting and 500 drunk people suddenly pulled firearms in a FUCKING DARKENED NIGHTCLUB FULL OF PANICKING PEOPLE, there wouldn't have been an even bigger massacre or anything. No, the bad guy would have appeared, and the good guys would have shot him dead, because that's what it's like in the movies.

/ rant.

Probably not so many gay nightclubs in Texas either?

i would guess.

in some cases though, the shooter goes in intending to commit suicide at the end. So i dont think even knowing that anybody could be armed would be a deterrent.

Any extension of Right to Buy to private properties would also have to toughen up renters' rights, especially in England, otherwise private landlords would just chuck them out before they got to the point where they had Right to Buy.

--Permadeath.
--Procedurally generated dungeons.
--"Dungeon crawl" gameplay generally.

Sure.

--3d.
--Not turn based.
--Dark-Souls style dodge-and-maneuver combat.
--Not an "@" in sight.

How about "Fighting game with roguelike elements"?

Hee. Reading that Team 17 article is quite fun. Reminds me of my school days, because I went to school with Andy Davidson (the author of Worms), and I playtested it extensively back when it was using illegally ripped sprites and animations from Lemmings, and indeed was titled LemArtillery before it was called Total Wormage. Occasionally the Amiga games I wrote had people queueing up at the school Amigas to play them, but whenever Andy appeared with his latest prototype they'd all leave my queue to go and play his games instead :) He was trying for years to get it published, before he eventually made contact with Team 17.

That is really awesome! I'm glad he got there.

Personally, I played an awful lot of Scorched Earth in ye olden days, so finding a humorous version was a joy. Not that I've played a Worms game in a very long time.
