I wish more restaurants would pay some attention to the end of the experience. I've had far too many restaurant meals where everything goes fine and efficiently until they take the plates away. Then it takes forever for them to bring the bill, another forever to take the card or cash away, and a third forever to bring the card or the change back. And all the while I wait and wait, I'm thinking, "Your tip is slowly dropping."

No, the multiple stages is normal. What's annoying is how long they take. When accomplished quickly it's not annoying at all.
