I thought something happened with Westworld that didn't bode well? Didn't it get canned or something then hastily brought back before it had even been piloted?

HBO had better make the Darren Aronofsky adaptation of the Maddaddam trilogy, that's all I'm saying!

Yeah, but lots of things don't bode well in advance - the pilot for GoT was apparently terrible, but they rewrote it, swapped out half of the cast, and apparently it now gets quite good reviews.

I don't really know much about GoT - not my kind of thing.

Personally, I prefer limited series to open ended things these days for the most part, but I understand why networks obviously want a popular series that they can keep going with as long as they get ratings.

For drama I thoroughly agree with you. Either the overall length should be timeboxed or each season should be its own story (the way that Buffy did it).

I'd be a lot less interested in GoT if it didn't have a pre-defined end-point (24 episodes to go, apparently)

The article on anti-semitic thought on the left rather needed to make the point more strongly that the right is even more racist but gets away with it.

Racism, sexism and classism (is that actually a word) are far more culturally acceptable though.

Yep. I mean. We do now live in a world where Zach Goldsmith and the BREXIT mob were able to discount the opinion of the President of the United States because he's an uppity black man from Africa. And not the slightest whiff of a fuss about it in the papers.

My personal pole of inaccessibility lies in the Glasgow/Game of Thrones article, since I'm unfamiliar with both.

They both have their plus points.

I've been not far from the Australian Pole of Inaccessibility.

It's not far from Ularu.
