The evidence for plaque removal is that it is best with NO toothpaste.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20657090

"RESULTS:
Plaque reduction with dentifrice was 57.35% and without dentifrice was 66.19%. This 9% difference was statistically significant ( P < or = 0.001).

CONCLUSION:
Dentifrice use does not enhance plaque removal when used in conjunction with a toothbrush, and instead, may marginally lessen the brushing effect. The role of a toothbrush appears to be more crucial in the maintenance of oral hygiene."

Therefore I have not used toothpaste for about 5 years. I use floss religiously. I also hardly eat refined carbs, and I found this combined regime reduced plaque and eliminated any mild gum bleeding issues. If I have a carb frenzy, I notice the difference right away.

Interesting. Not sure it needed five revisions to get your point across though...

I've always just assumed the point of tooth paste is to not have bad breath.

I certainly agree with the electric toothbrush part. I noticed enormous improvement, especially regarding plaque buildup, after I started using one.

If you enjoy seeing firemen with cats, you might be amused by the sheer amount of adorable cats with horrible people that you see if you google image search for Nazis and cats.

Would never have occurred to me to wax anything, but it does occur to me to wonder how that one has ended up on your "interesting links" list...

Someone linked to it, possibly?

Or it could have been in the daily email I get from Quora.
