Regarding 'How Democracy Works

The first one rings so true for me.

There are so many people out there who seem to believe that they know better than people of whatever socially 'other' group who actually live in the skin they're in!

Um......no.

Coming from a lovely, protected, middle-class family, I remember semi-rejecting all sorts of unpleasant stuff.

Because I assumed that my experience was typical, and all of the horrible stuff that I heard must be one-offs, or misunderstandings, or something else, because the world just wasn't like that.

It took me a long time to realise that I was the outlier, and that my experience just wasn't normal.
