The newspaper article was interesting. I used to see people reading the SF Chronicle all over the place. I don't see anyone reading a paper-newspaper these days.

I get almost all my news from the web, mainly because I don't trust American news outlets. So I agree with the author that newspapers are going the way of the dodo. I think, (and I hope,) that paper books don't disappear. I read both digital books and analogue books, and I find value in both.

Thanks for posting interesting links.

Yeah, I think there's still value in print newspapers. And I hope that journalism finds new ways to thrive.

"And I hope that journalism finds new ways to thrive."

I think it already has. The web allows us to read French Socialist Papers as well as Al Jazeera, one of the most credible Middle East news outlets, in my opinion.

The web has many pitfalls for the future of journalism, but I think it also opens up a lot of opportunities. Thanks to the "Smart Phone" a White cop is finally going to prison for shooting an unarmed Black man in the back. That kind of first-person witness, with pics or video to back them up, has created a potential for many more "citizen journalists."

That's an odd mistake for the article to make - I didn't even register it!

(Checking elsewhere, it looks like the Supreme Court made the judgement.)
