Oh yes!

And think of other micronutrients we could provide! Not volitile ones like iodine, sadly, but zinc, manganese, magnesium, molybdenum, and so on. A small arc furnace and sandcasting bed in someone's backyard could supply a small nation with them.

Eh, I find the 'homeless Sims' thing to be a bit disingenuous. You mean that people say things which sound like they're about other things after you deliberately strip them of context? What a surprise!
