Wow, so is that mom going to pay for therapy for her sons when they are in their 20s?
There are plenty of ways to explain to boys the realities about different female body types without going out of your way to create an oedipal complex.
Plus, you know, kudos to her for assuming all three sons will be straight.
Both of my parents were naked a fair bit when I was a kid, as was I. I'm fairly sure that the only effect it's had on me is that nudity isn't a big deal.
But where they being naked as part of a political agenda?
This woman seems to be doing so to actively influence her sons's sexuality when they are older.
Sure, kids end up seeing mom and dad naked from time to time, but kids also pick up more about what's going on in mom and dad's mind more than parents realize.
The facet that she's doing this so that her sons will eventually get turned on by a wider variety of women is what is problematic and also assumes that her sons will have a sexual interest in women.

"To me, what is and should be cool about skiffy is going back and seeing the same bits of hardware over and over again; the same phasers, the same jaunting belts; the same lightsabers."
I'd disagree with that. What's cool, to me, about scifi is sense of wonder. A lightsaber gave me a sense of wonder as a kid. The double-ended one gave me a (smaller) sense of wonder as an adult. Seeing the a whole bunch of Jedi all fighting with lightsabers gave me more of that. Repeating the same thing over and over definitely doesn't have that effect, so it's the last thing I want. I want to see growth and change, in interesting ways, that builds on what came before it. If you have lightsabers, what else can you build with the same technology? What other cool devices could you build that nobody has thought of up until now? That, to me, is what I want from my scifi.

Which in some ways amounts to something similar. but I think that an intention of "Normalise a range of bodies" is a good thing.

Other than that, I did mostly agree :-)
