You'd think the publishers would rather spend their comcicon money pushing the movies and then get the retail outlets to sell the variants for them.

Paying Tom Hiddleson to turn up as Loki is going to generate a lot more press and long term revenue than trying to sell bunch of copies of alternate universe graphic novels.

right in the midst of oscillating between opening other news articles and cursor hovering over many others detailing how hell-in-a-handbasket the world is right now, I suddenly loaded up the new Guardian article look and boy is it snazzy.
