I'd love to see a study done on all newspapers. I suspect the results would be enlightening on all sides :->

Having worked in newsrooms for a decade in my younger years i can tell you it would be really depressing.

He left out the Persians, who came between Babylon and the Greeks. The Persians were responsible for the Israelites going home from Babylon and building the Temple again. Cyrus brags about doing it, on a cylinder seal.

at first glance the design of the Fatally Flawed site looked like one of those 'This simple plant will cure all your flatulent worries' or 'Electricians Hate This!' sites
on second glance and reading: well-written in plain English, clear links to information, and nicely structured through all points. like 'the bottom line' on the pages as well.

thanks for this link.

Yeah, the site looks rather old-fashioned, but the info is solid.

This is also a very entertaining take on it:

I get the feeling vertical stripes are considered Barbarian Style: such as the Celtic one-pieces on the Gundestrup Cauldron, or Obelix's trousers on the comic strip. Stripes should be an easy way to break up the monotony of single colour cloth.

More complicated patterns can be very old, such as the recently-discovered 3,000 year old riding trousers in Central Asia, but I suppose they might be too heavy for a sail.
