I think history has already judged the supporters of prop 8. Time to forgive and move on.

He wasn't just supporting Prop 8, but also Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul, and a few other wingnuts.

That may fly well in Texas, but not so well in latte land.

These are _supporters_ of Prop 8, leaving it because they see Eich as having been forced out for his views.

Thousands of them.

Google and Apple came out against Prop 8 at the time, IIRC. Hope these folks like Internet Explorer! Oh wait, both Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates gave money to support Washington R-74.

Maybe they can use Opera? Oh wait, Norway has marriage equality too.

One primary duty of a CEO is properly handling situations that are or could become PR issues for an organization. Eich was clearly incapable of doing so in an effective manner, making him unsuitable for the job. Had he stayed CTO instead, I suspect he could have been at Mozilla for many more years.

(The Peter Principle in action?)

Oh yes, anticipating these situations and handling them in a way that keeps everyone together is the CEO's job. His failing to do that was the issue here.

I just feel bad for Mozilla, whose aims I fully support, that they're now getting a backlash to the backlash!

He should stuck with his first instinct, then - asked to throw his hat into the ring for the CEO post, he initially didn't want to. Oops.

Stop! Just stop trying to confuse us with facts! It's much moar fun to rant and make up evidence to support my the right side of the story:

It That Hitler did not purge all of The Gays from the SS and that they're alive and well here in Amerika forcing that giant evil heartless corporation to fire poor, poor, poor Brendan Eich.

Wait a minute! Did I get that story mixed up with the new Captain America?
