The ADHD story is hilarious, given that the professor/psychologist who actually first diagnosed children as having ADHD latterly admitted it was completely made up (just before his death).

ADHD is just another way of saying "being kids" and was a new way to get more kids taking drugs. It's useful to note that the number of people diagnosed as suffering from ADHD *outside* the USA is approaching zero.

That's _utter_ nonsense.

ADHD has known genetic triggers, is well-treated (in most cases) by dopamine re-uptake inhibitors, and is absolutely crippling for people who have it.

It has been _over_ diagnosed, with people who are simply bored being medically diagnosed when they shouldn't have been, but the underlying condition definitely exists.

(Note: I know someone with ADHD. I once tried some of their drugs, to see if it had the same calming effect on me. Not even slightly - what calmed them down caused me to spend the next several hours rather hyper. Because my brain doesn't have ADHD, and theirs does.)

Sadly, after reading into that asteroid visualisation, it looks to be the third stage of an old booster rocket from Apollo 12: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J002E3

Still interesting to see it's crazy orbit and how the moon caused it to be flung back out into the solar system.

You are completely correct. And told me yesterday, and I totally meant to update the link before it hit LJ.

D'oh!

Wow. Neither of mine moved anywhere near that much in the womb. Even as a mother I think those images look quite freaky, like born babies wrapped in thin film. My babies' movements were more like internal tics, often not detectable from outside, and certainly not discernable body parts.

Yeah, I was pretty amazed too!
