Interesting. Going from none to two in one year indicates the possibility that a wholesale change in happening.

I don't know anything about the NBA guy, but for the NFL wannabe, it's a great way to build some buzz. He's a mid-round prospect (probably), and all of a sudden he's getting press conferences that the top prospects can only dream of (and no doubt in turn chat show appearances). If he plays his cards right (and from the press conference on Saturday, he's a very media-friendly, eloquent, intelligent-sounding, good-looking young man), he could end up with some lucrative endorsements. If he'd have stayed quiet about his preferences, that's unlikely ( ... )

Up until a few years ago there would probably have been fears that the advertisers and a chunk of the audience wouldn't like it.

But we seem to have now passed that point, which may be one reason why things are slowly changing.

I hated the "wading through snow" explanation of how the Higgs field --> mass, so I was loking forward to this. But no, it still talk about "molasses", which makes no sense to me. To be fair to the cartoonist, this is after he and a physicist have done their best, so I'm content that it's genuinely non-intuitive, not just the fault of lazy explicators.

Yeah, I suspect that the "reality" is that it's just not explainable in plain English, and that it needs a deep understanding to properly understand.

When someone releases the 20-page version I shall take a look!
