Interesting article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. For a celeb spin, Denise Richards wanted Charlie Sheen's boys assessed for FAS, and since their mother has been in rehab over 20 times, it makes a certain amount of sense. However maybe it isn't all Brook's fault!

"They are still in a developmental stage using essentially Russian technology and knock-offs," says Robert Bigelow...

Sort of like how we got to the moon using Nazi rocket tech.

What Bigelow misses is that it's not the technology that matters, it's the political will. They have it. We don't.

Some of us played Lemmings on PCs that didn't have sound cards...

But the best bit of Lemmings was trying to get sound card drivers loaded into extended memory before you launched it!

Lemmings: I can't hear the resemblance at all. This is like those people who say the Civ IV music for Elizabeth is Mouret's Fanfare-Rondeau because that's what they remember being the theme of "the British TV show" (Masterpiece Theatre). They don't sound at all alike.

(leaving aside that Mouret is French Baroque, not English Tudor! If it was Mouret, which it isn't)

Whereas I can hear the actual notes, in the actual order, that make up Pachelbel's Canon. It seems very odd to me that you can't.

It only became obvious to me when someone pointed it out, one of them Magic Eye images suddenly resolving out of noise. But once I heard it, I can't not hear it anymore.

Just chanced across this rather excellent link: WWII-style Mario Propaganda. Searching your Delicious "mario" tag tells me you haven't linked it, so either you saw it and didn't like it, or haven't seen it yet. In case of the latter, I thought I'd post the link here :)

Cheers for that - I hadn't seen it, and I love it!
