I'm glad you posted that article about Google's new ad stuff. Because I read their new TOS the other day (well okay, read a bit of) and I wasn't horrified, and that made me worried I was being stupid.

Bart Calendar's mentioned a few times that Facebook have been sly about using his details to spam ads at people, but the Google thing seems okay.

I like or share a thing. People I have shared that fact with anyway are made aware of that in more prominent ways. I possibly even like that, in that, say I'm looking for a window cleaner, Google will tell me that people I follow recommend one, without my having to ask around.

I'm sure we'll get used to Google's increasingly spooky mindreading...

Yeah. As advertising goes it's about as low-intrusion as you can get.

And if anything, if I go to the trouble of sharing or liking a business, it's because I want to recommend it.
