Day of Chaos was pretty brilliant. Really my only complaint with it was that it didn't really end, but that was sort of the point, it sets up this whole new world into which Dredd marches to have continuing adventures.

Gutsy as well, a 50 episode arc? So they spent almost an entire year telling one story in 2000AD.

I seem to recall a documentary where a pod of Orca took on a pod of Sperm Whales to eat either a baby or an injured adult - and won.

They are pretty scary.

I don't trust a creature that smiles that much.

Isn't the equivalence between sets and expressions in propositional logic known by pretty much anyone with any grounding in CS (or for that matter, electronics)? ias was taught this in library school almost twenty years ago!

Possibly. But I don't recall, from my CompSci education 23 years ago. I may have been asleep that day.

Possibly. I suppose that, if you haven't been introduced to the notion of an interpretation in propositional logic (via a truth table), then this might come as a surprise.

Also, tis the future. Many computer users, and even quite senior developers, _don't have_ a grounding in CS.

Veils danieldwilliam September 23 2013, 11:27:47 UTC
Sunday Morning Live had an interesting panel discussion on the veil including a woman who used to be a singer who had taken up the veil in adulthood, a guy from the British Humanists and a Muslim cleric ( ... )

Yup, I'm much the same. It is not up to me to decide what other people wear, but I will definitely be affected by their clothing choices.

Sure, I'm affected by people's clothing choices. If they wear something especially shiny I might be made happier; for instance. But that doesn't make me feel like I have some right to demand that people dress so as to increase my happiness...

Forcing women to wear veils is bad, forcing them not to is also bad. But honestly if we are debating "shit society forces women to wear" I really think that things like high heels (which can be really damaging to your feet) are a much bigger concern. I really don't see what's supposed to be so *bad* about wearing a head or face covering.

The more I read people saying "OMG niqabs are an awful tool of oppression" the more I want to say "fuck you it's my face and you aren't seeing it if I don't want you to" and wear one.
