This white model was made using measurements that match up closely with CDC measurements of the average 19 year old woman in America. The end result is what Barbie would look like if she was a healthy, beautiful, 19 year old woman.

But how many 19 year old women play with dolls? Barbie has a younger body pretty much like her customers, sometimes in an idealized job. (Like, Nancy Drew was said to be in high school and dating college men, but was really interested in secret passages and flashlights. And Princess Leia looked and acted like an adolescent, but supposedly was a Senator.)

I just googled pictures of 6-year-old girls* and they also don't have a body shape anything like Barbie.
