I read that Skyrim article after seeing your tweet; downloaded and installed his recommended mods, and he's right - it looks even more gorgeous than it did before. And I'm getting smooth frame rates (at least so far, I haven't had a full walk around yet). He's got a faster graphics card than me (Geforce 680 whereas I still have a 580), but I've got a faster CPU.

It does look gorgeous. I need to look into what mods to run with once I finally get around to playing it.

Mods ruined New Vegas for me. :-(

To explain - I loved New Vegas, sinking a lot of hours into it and using just one mod - for nicer skies. Then I decided to play through a second time, with an awful lot of mods. I ended up spending so much time tweaking mods, trying out mods, uninstalling mods and modding the mods I already had that I found I couldn't be happy with it because I was focussing too much on "are these mods just right?" rather than actually playing the damn thing.

The only mods I used for Skyrim were realistic water and one to make roads stand out a little more on the map.

Yeah, I don't want to spend all of my time frittering with it, rather than actually playing it.

Someone managed to get the Wee Free, the Flat Earth Society and a photo of a "Jedi knight training school" into the same piece and past the editors of the Beeb's News site. Anyone else think that BBC article was written for a bet? If so I hope someone is enjoying their winning pint.

I thought the thing publishers can't do yet was going to be charge fees for remembering what was in a book.
