They looked at 34 classrooms, for 1 period of time, and measured 10 things about each? And those classrooms were only in 7 schools, so presumably there's a huge amount of clustering? I don't really believe they've found anything yet...

also 'a high level of explanation (73%) was identified at the “class” level'

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most primary schools have the same class _and teacher_ in the same classroom all the time?

Oh yes, it's a small study, and I'd want to see it replicated on a much larger scale before any kind of policy changes are made based on it!
