Okay, am I misunderstanding streaming, or does it require an internet connection? I haven't done much (if any) of it for that reason, most of the things I listen to/watch/play are done offline by necessity (I don't have a smart phone and I commute). /notreallyinthe21stcentury

It requires an internet connection at some point, depending :->

I use Spotify, which can either stream live, or save the albums I select on my phone/PC.

Lacking a smartphone, this isn't much use for your commute. But I use Spotify for listening to music at home all the time too.

At some point is fine, I just wondered if it needed to be constant. I might not have a smartphone but I do often have my laptop on the train part of my commute. My interest is mostly in Steam and the games it has; I thought it required a constant internet connection. But that's a different monkey. I still would much prefer downloading to streaming music, I think. It gives me more flexibility from the sound of it.

Oh yes - You can download a bunch of songs on Spotify and then play them later:

Only if you're a premium user though, which is £9.99/month. I pay that, because I want the music available on my phone.
