Reasons to worry

According to ValleyWag LJ's just 20 of their 28 staff.  Don't know how reliable these reports are, but I hope that you've all got a backups of your journal.

I also hope those nice Dreamwidth people are actually doing something, so that I can jump ship when the time comes...

So what are you thinking, the site's just going to disappear? Is there any chance it'd be sold off to another company? If they decide to cut their losses and run and thus the outlay of money to buy the site is fairly minimal, would that keep the site up? How much does it cost to run a site like LJ on a day-to-day basis anyway?

I don't expect it to just disappear. I do expect it to have problems, as unless those engineers were sitting around doing nothing they are going to have more technical glitches than they used to...

Plus, they'll not have enough devs to make any new features, the usability project will probably go down the tubes, if marta's gone what rudiments of PR they have are gone too...
