EDIT: I completely forgot, while writing that post, but: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, samanthalb! :D

I should be writing, both for classes and for fandom, but I got sucked into Star Trek's fics and I'm wasting precious time on reading Kirk/Spock stories. If they weren't so good, I'd be really pissed. ;) By any chance any of you have some recs? Preferably of long fics? ( Read more... )

hahaha XD Seems like I'm the exact opposite! I don't mind Kirk/Mccoy, but it just doesn't do it for me. After the first time I watched the movie I was mostly indifferent to all pairings, they seemed fun enough, but not overly tempting. After the re-watch though and few well written fics? Kirk/Spock all the way! XD

I actually made a Star Trek rec-list not long ago. Not all of them are Kirk/Spock, but you will find that pairing as well. And most of the stories are longer. here

Yes! This is actually all your fault, just so you know XD (And thank you for this XD) After the re-watch I sort of liked Spock/Kirk, but I wasn't highly tempted to read/write a lot about them. Then I've read few fics and decided that yeah, I'm more of a Spock/Kirk kind of fan, and then I've noticed your rec post and read So wise we grow and I was completely gone for this ship XD

So thanks XD I will now check out the AUs you recced, 'cause I admit after opening two or so recs I closed the tab with your post thinking "eh, I probably won't get into this pairing that much". (Famous last words, I swear. XD)

Ah,I see! I’ll take the blame/credit :-) no problem. You’re very welcome.

I did see the appeal of the pairing after the first reboot movie, but I never read much in the fandom at all. It never really grabbed me; regardless of pairing.

When done well, Kirk/Spock really works for me. Kirk/Spock is a difficult pairing and if canon, the setting is not an easy-ride either. I love when I find a story that works for me; there’s just a great dynamic to this pairing that is fun to explore outside canon.

This fandom will probably be one I look in on from time to time once the Into Darkness-wave has settled. Unless the majority of the new fics, that I sure hope are coming, are magically more to my liking, then I am not likely to read a whole lot.
