WHY LJ, WHY, I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!

Jun 03, 2013 16:41

LJ is being really annoying. Sometimes he lets me comment on something, sometimes not. Usually he eats up the whole comment, when he refuses to post it. I answered sunshine304's post with a meme about interests - error, try again. The whole comment got eaten. I answered hiddleasaurus's awesome post about tea (♥) - same thing. And I'm pretty sure those weren't the only ( Read more... )

LJ is getting suckier and suckier every day. It's like watching your home fall to pieces around you andb being unable to do anything. I'm hoping my LJ friends here will move over to Dreamwidth with me when the time comes...

Ugh, yeah, thought it's not that bad. And I refuse to move until it shuts down completely or I actually will find something equally useful. Or better. For some reason I really dislike Dreamwidth, though. :/

My comments sometimes get frozen in the middle of sending. Usually it's good to reload and check before another try of re-sending; it happens that the comment has been registered, and the problem was only with the proper display. Or not, and then it needs to be written again indeed... If it helps you, it's not only LJ that does it. Deviantart too. ;)

Yeah, at first they were getting frozen as you said and all was fine after refreshing, but then I couldn't post at all and the comments dissapeared, ugh :/ It seems fine now, but I do ctrl+c my comments before posting, just to be safer XD

I had this problem about a year ago, I think? Almost always when sending LJ froze and then went "Error, oops didn't save the comment!" and I was so frustrated with it (especially because this tended to happen with long, link-heavy posts).

Since then I'm always crtl+c-ing longer comments or posts before sending, just to be on the safe side. But I haven't had this problem for a while now, perhaps it's got something to do with the... zones or whatever it's called that the journals are in? There were those problems recently where you couldn't post or see your flist or whatever if you were in particular zones, IDK.

I'm still very attached to LJ because it's what really brought me into fandom, but the owners should be aware that all the recent problems won't be ignored by users. Perhaps they want to make it Russian only and so don't care about it. *shrugs*

I'm really attached to LJ since it's the site that works best for me. I prefer writing and reading and the pace is not insane (especially now). Tumblr is just too quick for me and while I like all the shiny pics, it's not a site I could actually stay on only and manage to get some friends there. I hope LJ will hold up for long enough, until I find some alternative that will be good enough :/

I'm ctrl+c ing my comments now as well, though everything seems to be all right. ;)

Yeah, LJ's been having commenting issues a lot lately- mostly, I've been getting notifications later, etc.

I've got into the habit of copying my comments before pressing the post comment, which has somewhat alleviated losing comments.

Yeah, I'm working on developing that habit as well. When I had the problems with posting comments it was annoying because after few problematic comments, everything seemed to work fine, so I didn't bother with any precoutions and then - it started up again, so I lost another long comment, eh. :/

Hopefully the problem went away permanently now :)
