You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me. -- CS Lewis

Remember the whole "only read books by specific peoples" thing going around this time last year? Well, while I felt that "only read" was a tad restrictive, I did agree that it certainly wouldn't hurt to broaden my reading outside my defaults. I just wasn't sure what my defaults were so I decided to keep track of who wrote what I read for pleasure ( Read more... )

Good grief!

I bow to your ability to keep track of such things!

I have no idea how many books I read last year (complicated by not being sure whether listening to audiobooks counts as reading)

I know I've only listened to two and read the tail end of one so far this year but so close to the start of the year, that's not difficult to keep track of.

I'm a little impressed by that too. I made a quick note after I finished each book but I'm not positive I remembered to do it every time.

And it's the 4th. You're totally winning 2016 so far. I've taken notes on the first two chapters of a research book. :)

When I track my reading, audio books count and like some of my friends, I have gotten into the habit of having a "what did I finish this month" piece which I then append to the "what did I finish this year" piece. Some of them are more thorough and break down by graphic novel, novel, novella, short story, etc..

I'm not as branched as you are though I have read or at least re-read some Canadian authors. I know where some of them live and what gender and race they are. Others I have no idea. I am currently at a fairly high percentage of female authors (5/46) but some of that is reading multiple books by the same person.
