So, this last weekend -- October 4th, 5th, and 6th -- I was in Ottawa for Can-Con: The Conference on Canadian Content in Speculative Arts and Literature which was, in 2013, hosting Canvention 33. I have to confess I really wanted another Gale book but because you are on my "Buy in HB if thats the only way I can get you" list because I cannot get your books in Kindle format in NZ I got The Silvered.

It sat on my shelf for a while before I got around to reading it but OMG it blew my socks off when I did, such an original take on the magic. I really really enjoyed it and the award is well deserved :)

Congratulations, Tanya. It's wonderful to see the general sf populace reflect what my heart already knows about your writing. Puts me in a very happy place.

I was at the awards, but sadly had to leave early to get my kids (and the kid of one of the con organizers) off to theatre rehearsal, so I wasn't there for your big moment. Just wanted to say I'm proud of your accomplishment, and hope it inspires you to even more fabulous writing. <3
